What Backlink Pilot Offers Today
Backlink Pilot's current public page lists these plans. Check the live terms before choosing; the figures below are the vendor's published monthly prices, not a checkout quote.
| Plan | Published Monthly Price | Tracked Links | Link Checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Up to 100 | Monthly |
| Starter | $15 | Up to 500 | Weekly |
| Agency | $29 | Up to 2,000 | Weekly |
| Scale | $59 | Up to 5,000 | Weekly |
The free plan lists unlimited clients and partners, with no credit card required. Paid plans are available from inside the account when you need more capacity.
Pilot checks the expected destination, anchor text and follow status of links you add or import. Its documented workflow includes CSV import, links received and given, and records connecting reciprocal or ABC exchanges. An ABC exchange is a three-way arrangement; the ledger keeps the related placements together.
Its FAQ explicitly says it does not discover new backlinks. That is different from checking whether a link you already recorded still matches your expectations.

Compare the Workflows
Choose the job first, then the software. “Not independently verified” below means this review did not establish a capability; it does not prove the capability is absent.
| Requirement | Backlink Pilot | Linkody | Backlink Management |
|---|---|---|---|
| Recurring checks | Monthly on Free; weekly on paid plans. | Plans FAQ says link status updates every 24 hours. | A status field is visible; a recurring recheck schedule was not independently verified. |
| Placement records | Client, partner, destination, expected anchor and follow status. CSV import documented. | Tags, notes and CSV fields for expected landing page, anchor and follow status are documented. | Earned Backlinks shows source website, linking URL, traffic, DR, date added and status. CSV migration was not independently verified. |
| Partner and exchange ledger | Links received/given and reciprocal or ABC exchange records documented. | Equivalent partner or ABC ledger not independently verified. | Equivalent partner or ABC ledger not independently verified. |
| New backlink discovery | FAQ says it monitors links you add or import, not new-link discovery. | Plans page advertises new-link discovery and email notifications. | Broad-web discovery coverage not independently verified. |
| Search and content context | GSC and publishing integrations not independently verified in this review. | GSC export-file import documented; that is not the same as a connected performance dashboard. | Connected GSC dashboard with impressions, clicks, CTR and position; Content Planner and keyword opportunities were observed. |
| Moving your existing records | CSV import is documented; we did not test an export of a Pilot account. | Import formats and update rules are documented; preserving Pilot's exchange relationships was not tested. | Direct Pilot import, history preservation and automatic synchronisation were not independently verified. |

DIFFERENT JOB, DIFFERENT WORKSPACE
Bring Search Data Into the Decision
Explore BM's connected SEO workflow without assuming it replaces your partner ledger or scheduled link checks.
Explore BM With an AccountWhen to Stay With Backlink Pilot
Stay if its published check schedule, quotas and partner records already cover your needs. A broader SEO product is not automatically a better replacement for a tool doing a focused job.
Before switching, list the records you rely on: clients, partners, links received, links given and the connections within each exchange. Moving source URLs alone does not show that those relationships will survive.
If you need more than 100 tracked links, compare Pilot's paid tiers with the actual requirement driving the change. More capacity, more frequent checks and a different kind of workspace are separate buying decisions.
For the broader multi-client setup, our agency backlink-management guide explains the organisational questions to ask before choosing software.
When Linkody May Be the Better Monitoring Choice
Consider Linkody when the documented checking interval is decisive. Its current FAQ says it checks links and updates status every 24 hours, with email reports available daily or weekly.
Its plans page advertises new-link discovery, tags, notes and CSV or white-label PDF reports. The 30-day trial excludes CSV/PDF export, so do not use the trial as proof that you can complete every reporting or migration step.
Read its CSV settings before importing. The documentation says the default limit is one link per referring domain; choose “No limit” if you intend to import every row. With “Update existing links” enabled, empty fields can erase existing values other than the date added.
Those rules matter when the same publisher supplied several placements or when existing notes must survive. We did not import a live Pilot portfolio, test email delivery or verify an equivalent ABC ledger.

When Backlink Management Makes More Sense
Consider BM when you need context around your link records, rather than a promise of faster checks. In our 14 October interface inspection, Earned Backlinks displayed source website, linking URL, traffic, DR, date added and status.
The connected SEO Dashboard showed impressions, clicks, CTR and position, with Content Planner and keyword opportunities nearby. That lets you review link records and search performance in the same product; it does not prove a particular backlink caused a ranking change.
The SEO Assistant, in Context
The SEO Assistant is labelled Preview. Its visible prompt starters include “Build my SEO plan”, “Link my latest articles” and “Keywords close to page one”.
These are observed interface options, not tested outcomes or a promise that every requested action will run automatically. Connected data, account access and usage limits matter.
Illustrative interface-label panel:
Earned Backlinks — Source Website · Linking URL · Traffic · DR · Date Added · Status
SEO Dashboard — Impressions · Clicks · CTR · Position
SEO Assistant · Preview — Build my SEO plan · Link my latest articles · Keywords close to page one
If your choice concerns the work before and after publication, compare the separate guest-post campaign software workflows. This Pilot comparison stays focused on retaining or replacing the tools around existing placement records.
Can You Use Backlink Pilot and BM Together?
You can evaluate using them as separate tools for different tasks, but we did not test an integration or shared workflow. Pilot can remain the place for partner relationships, exchange records and its documented link checks while you evaluate BM for search context and content planning.
Choose which tool owns each record. Keep partner and exchange details in the system where you can verify them, and record the date of any manual hand-off. We did not verify automatic synchronisation, a shared ledger or a Pilot-to-BM importer.
Do not cancel the current service until a small sample demonstrates every workflow you need. Check expected attributes, last-check dates, client separation and the records you can actually take with you.
Questions Before You Switch
Does BM Replace Backlink Pilot's Automatic Checks?
Not on the evidence established here. We verified BM's visible record fields, not a recurring check schedule, automatic lost-link alerts or a replacement for Pilot's exchange ledger.
What Happens to My CSV?
Keep the original and test a small copy before moving your working records. Pilot documents CSV import and Linkody documents supported import formats; neither fact proves that Pilot's history and exchange relationships transfer intact. A direct Pilot-to-BM migration was not verified.
Which Is Better for Partner Exchanges?
Backlink Pilot explicitly documents received/given links and reciprocal or ABC exchange records. We did not establish equivalent ledgers in Linkody or BM, so keep Pilot if that workflow is essential unless your alternative demonstrates it.
Should I Switch Just Because I Outgrew 100 Free Links?
Not necessarily. Pilot lists paid capacity of 500, 2,000 and 5,000 links with weekly checks. Compare that upgrade with your actual need before replacing a working ledger.
Sources and Review Method
Research date: 14 October 2026. We read public vendor documentation and inspected an existing BM account without changing its data. We did not buy competitor plans, run a migration or benchmark checking accuracy.
Public community searches did not establish a current, independent head-to-head comparison of these three workflows. No review score, testimonial or claimed customer outcome is used here.
